Services are available on a short-term basis and may be provided in 24-hour or 15-minute units, depending on the level of need and waiver eligibility.
Respite can take place in the individual’s home, a family member’s home, a friend’s home, or licensed residential settings as appropriate. These services are intended for individuals living in private homes and can also be delivered by qualified caregivers familiar to the individual. Our approach ensures continuity of care, safety, and comfort while supporting families in maintaining balance and well-being.
Our respite services include:
> Respite – Out-of-Home (24 Hours)
This service provides extended care for periods exceeding 16 hours in licensed residential settings. It is often used during planned absences or emergencies to ensure individuals receive continuous supervision and support.
- Basic Staff Support (24 Hours)
This level offers care with a staff-to-individual ratio of 1:4 within a licensed setting. It is suitable for individuals who require general supervision and structured support during respite periods. - Staff Support Level 1 (24 Hours)
This service provides increased support with a staff-to-individual ratio ranging from less than 1:4 to greater than 1:1. It is designed for individuals who need more guidance while maintaining some level of independence. - Staff Support Level 2 (24 Hours)
This level delivers one-on-one support with a staff-to-individual ratio of 1:1. It is appropriate for individuals who require consistent, hands-on assistance throughout the respite period. - Level 2 Enhanced (24 Hours)
This service provides 1:1 care with staff who hold at least a four-year degree or are licensed nurses. It supports individuals with more complex needs requiring advanced knowledge and clinical awareness. - Staff Support Level 3 (24 Hours)
This level offers a higher level of care with a staff-to-individual ratio of 2:1. It is intended for individuals who require intensive supervision and assistance for safety and daily functioning. - Level 3 Enhanced (24 Hours)
This service provides 2:1 support from highly qualified staff with advanced education or nursing credentials. It ensures a higher level of oversight for individuals with complex care requirements. - Respite – Emergency
Emergency respite is provided in licensed waiver-funded homes when urgent care is needed beyond standard capacity. It ensures immediate, temporary support during unexpected caregiver unavailability.
